Itamar Borochov

Born in a family of musicians, raised in the Jewish-Christian-Muslim city of Jaffa, Itamar Borochov has always maintained this wealth of influences: Edith Piaf, Weather Report, Nusrat Fatah Ali Khan or Prince laid the foundations for an opening salutary music.

His initiation was complete only when he entered the Sephardic synagogue of the district: Borochov absorbed sacred music based on Arabic scales and nourished by this secular Jewish tradition. His immersion in New York jazz heritage in the mid-2000s will convince him: "I must be true. If Coltrane was inspired by the fact that his father was a preacher, I had to do the same thing.
