After a foray into the world of Stanley Kubrick, the most rock and cinephile jazz quartet on the planet decides to imagine a musical spin-off of Blade Runner.
Festen's cinematic music attempts to free itself from structures and norms in the name of a raw, realistic, almost nervous discourse.
Jazz, then, but which would have succumbed to the harsh seductions of rock'n'roll, which would have assumed its adolescence to serve it up again in compositions that are as original as they are energetic.
By proposing Replicant, their latest project, Festen achieves its ultimate approach: to make us experience the image in music.
